running out of hot water

I am on a slab ... only a line to kitchen sink and 1/2 bath run in the slab and its PEX coming out so I assume PEX is in the entire run. Only copper I know of is the main into the house. The home is ~14 years old.

I am going to try a few of the suggestion here in a little bit and let y'all know if I come up with anything

Check for dirt under the tank and on the intake screen. I bet its shutting itself down for lack of Oxygen. Unplug for a few minutes to reset.
