Rough in for tub drain?

Im getting ready to frame in a wet wall between my two bathrooms and would like to add a tub to hall bath. How far from framing or finished wall should the tub drain rough in be? There is already a drain installed by previous homeowner there, but it is way to shallow and not properly tied into toilet drain.
