rough-in radiator pipe height above floor

what is the typical thickness of carpet and/or hardwood flooring that is calculated in on top of subfloor when determining the length of final radiator nipples rising from the floor? is 3/8-1/2" safe to calc in on top of 3/4" of the subfloor.

thanks

laying a lenght of fins on a 2x4 for the wood floor, and (2) 2x4s for carpeting :whistling2:add up for both wood and carpet the double will be clear enough...better off soldering the nipples on the element runs and drop them down if you have a crawl or basement.pipe it to a mounted sections without the covers on:wink:
