Rotten egg odor in hot water only

Have rotten egg odor in hot water only. Have 85 ft well w/electric water heater. Have been adding Clorox every other day: works fairly well, but is a PIA in winter (-20 deg not unusual here). Any other relativly economical suggestions w/be greatly appreciated. Have already had several expert estimates in $3-5K solutions. Getting city water piped in in less than 2 yrs. Any suggestions for addinng Clorox from inside of home? Have already changed anode rod.

put the HWH gas valve into pilot and shut the cold feed and drain it down the open the feed, and let it flushout the bottom hose connected into the yard even if your up into the yard out of a basement...fill it for 5 minutes shut the water let it drain and do it 2 or 3 times.....might be crap at the bottom of the tank tainted the water....but definitly set that gas valve to pilot... or the cold water will call it on...get back should do it

This one is easy. Just replace the gizmo in the water heater. Can't think of the name of it right now but there is a rod threaded into the top of electric hot water heaters that collects impurities over time. At some point that rod will have done all it can do and needs to be replaced.

It just came to me. I think it is called an "anode rod" and it is there to be sacrificial. The stink is worse in systems that use well water.

End of problem.
