rooftop gas pip

The contractor I worked with, ran the gas pip up the side of the house onto the rooftop, it makes an L shape then into the roof again. I does not look very nice for a residence and I would like to move it so that it's not so exposed. How can I move it without it being so costly?

1. " Pip " Is a character in a Dickens Novel.

2. What is "So Costly"

3. Without any idea regarding how your home is built, it is absolutely impossible to offer any advice except the following:

Gas is explosive. It is not prudent to even consider working with gas pipe without experience, or the correct tools. If you do not own several high quality pipe wrenches, or do not know what NPT, union, coupling, street L or drip leg means forget it, and hire a pro. If you screw up plumbing, you have a leak. If you screw up gas, you have an explosion. Usually a Big Explosion.

A word to the wise.

Are you saying the contractor you hired ran the gas pipe? If so, any reason this wasn't brought up beforehand?
