HELP!!!!!I have a roman tub that was put in when the house was built about 10 or 12 years ago. The access door is in my laundry room (the other side of the back wall of the tub) and the faucets and spouts do not come out of the wall. They are on the far right corner of the tub and therefore cannot be reached by going through the access door. The spout is apparently connected underneath. I have had 4 plumbers out and they are not even sure if they can access it by cutting a whole in the wall. Therefore they can't even give me an estimate on what it might cost or if it can be done at all. Does anyone have any suggestions?
If I'm not mistaken, you'll need to remove the front panel of the tub for access. Typically it involves removing the caulk/sealer around the edges of the panel, then using suction cups (or a plunger) to pull the panel forward. You have to be very careful not to break the panel.
