rocking chair or toliet?

I have a huge problem with my toliet. I've replaced the wax ring and screwed it back down. It was fine. Then one day I sat to do my business, and bam I'm rocking. and not just a small rocking i mean one where i thought the toliet was tipping over. Not so cool when your doing your business!!!! so I went to screw the toliet back down, seeing how that what seemed to be the problem , and of course it wasn't. Not really sure whats wrong with it. It's screwed in properly. Any suggestions to my rocking toliet problems!?:)

Remove toilet and check the flange. See if it's broken, cracked, or the bolts striped out of the holes.

the flange is what the toilet is mounted to. sounds like it may be broken to me.

What is the best way to replace a flange if it is broken? They are glued to the drain pipe right?

Some are made of PVC and some are Cast iron. The repair really depends on how it's broken. If the outside of the flange is broken where the bolts are at, you can get a flange repair kit, which is basically a piece that goes around the flange with new bolt holes. If it's completely busted then you can use a "tighten to fit" setup.

I've not had any experience with either product, but I did a little research on it before.

Just make sure the flange really is broken. You don't want to replace that if you don't have too, especially if it is iron.
