Rheen Water Heater is leaking
 
Rheem model 21v40-7 has small leak below at the drain valve. Any help? Thanks

Are you sure the drip is not from the drain valve itself? You can get a screw on cap, normally used when daisy chaining lawn sprinklers (preferably metal for hot water) to cover the drain valve.

You may be able to adjust the packing nut (be careful if it is plastic) to stop leaking from the valve stem.

But I'll admit, most likely it is time for a new water heater.

Only 19% of NG WHs get replaced this early, but if he does fix it, given that it has survived 10 yrs. he can expect another 6 yrs. out of it.
