I'm putting a bathroom in the basement, everythings already rough plumbed, problem is that the orginal owners had a Zoeller M137-C pump in the ejector pit with a 1.5" discharge to the main sewer line (serves laundry and 1 sink). As I understand it this won't work for toilet. Is there a way to get around completely replacing the 1.5" pipe with 2" pipe? I'd like to avoid cutting into the sewer line. Thanks!
Yes, BUT, if the system is engineered, they can put in whatever they want.
We have this situation in our town in quite a few places actually.
Pumps are pumping up 1.5" discharge line approximately 200 ft where they dump into a shared 3" discharge pipe which travels approximately 100 more feet before it goes to gravity.
I personally think that engineer should be shot. <_<
And so : In response to the original post (sorry I got lost there)
I'm a little confused. 1.5" discharge aside (it does work, i've seen it work, it's just not the best idea and doesn't meet code for that matter)
You're saying the basement bathroom is already plumbed into the ejector?
