Resetting Undermount Kitchen Sink

Well, first time home owner and poster! I moved into the house couple months ago and am getting to work on projects I've noticed that need to be taken care of.

The kitchen sink needs to be reset. Its stainless steel with granite counter-tops. I attached a picture of the cracking which has appeared in numerous spots around the seal. From my understanding the sink might be 6-7 years old.

So, I did a little research and found that with most of these the silicone is what holds most of the weight of the sink. When looking underneath the sink I realized this sink has braces put underneath it on either side that do not appear to be holding weight due to a small gap I can see. The braces on the left has screws with heads directly next to the sink basin, while the right side shown you can see the screw coming in from where the dishwasher is.

The front and back of the sink don't have the braces, but instead this epoxy(?) with shims underneath that don't appear to be tucked under anything (the picture is deceiving the piece of wood is part of the cabinets that has about a quarter of an each between it and the shim).

Long story short, how should I go about resetting this? I don't think that I would be able to remove the braces meaning the sink would only drop a quarter of an each or so.
