Replacing Whole Shower - No Access Panel

I am planning to remodel a narrow bathroom in a corner of my house where the shower will take up the width of the room. The shower must be located such that I cannot add an access panel behind the faucet - two sides are exterior walls and the remaining side with the plumbing has a tub/shower wall on the opposite side. I will be gutting the bathroom and starting from scratch so I will have the flexibility to do this right...

To eliminate the need for in-wall access down the road, I am thinking of using a wall-mounted faucet where all of the "guts" are in the shower. One example is:

At a glance, it seems that the residential versions of surface mounted faucets (i.e. ones that are not for prisons or locker rooms) mostly come from European and not-so-well-known Asian manufacturers so I am a little concerned about getting replacement parts for this type of faucet in the US, although I admittedly do not know much about availability of faucet replacement parts.

Questions:
1) What other styles / brands / models of faucet are recommended for this situation?
2) Does anyone have any other general suggestions on how to eliminate the need for in-wall maintenance of shower faucets?

Thanks!

Any modern well know manufacturer is just fine. Stick with a name brand, i.e. Moen, Delta, Price Pfister, American Standard, and you'll be fine. They all have standard cartridges simple to replace or rebuild. My choice would be Delta or Moen. Deltas are super simple to rebuild and to Moens cartridges are a dime a dozen (almost)

Grohe has a good reputation. My kitchen faucet has a lifetime warranty.
