replacing vertical drain pipe under bathroom sink

I need to replace the metal vertical drain pipe that goes thru the floor. Do I need to crawl under the crawl space to get this done?

How else would you do it?
Got a picture.
If it's old cast or steel pipe get all of it you can out and replace with PVC. It's going to leak at some point.
