Replacing showerhead gooseneck
I am remodelling the bathroom and have retiled the shower. I stubbed off the showerhead gooseneck during the tiling. Now I have to insert a new goosenck into the brass fitting inside the wall. When I screw it in tightly, the bend in the gosse neck points up (the wrong way). I am worried that if I leave it half a revolution looser it will leak inside the wall, even if I use plumbers putty or teflon tape. Is there a tried and true method to replace these gooseneck shower head pipes without leaks? I appreciate any help or advice.

Use a thicker teflon tape and pipe dope on top of the teflon tape.
