Replacing a faucet drain--what is this extra hose coming into the side?

And what do I do with it? I've replaced a few faucet drains, but all of them have been straightforward, where the drain just goes right into drain pipe/J-bend. What is this extra hose coming into the side, and how do I install the new drain with this here?

That is a condensate drain from your heating/cooling equip. You'll need to reuse the tailpiece or purchase a new slip joint condensate Y-branch tailpiece
