Replacement of existing drain pipe from Kitchen and dishwasher
hi:
I have a couple of questions related to the replacement of my galvanized pipe now going from my kitchen and dishwasher into the sewer line.
I would like to replace this pipe with a 2" pvc pipe. It is approximately a 35-40 foot run. There is 1 elbow and one trap for cleaning.
The current pipe is coming down into the basement and goes into a copper pipe which(not sure) appears to be lead coupler? The copper pipe appears rough on the bottom, like it is wearing out, so I want to replace it.
My question is:
Is it a good idea to use pvc piping and is it safe in terms of cracking or should I replace it with pipe again?
I am hearing some issues about pvc pipe and it cracking and that temperature plays a part in the expansion and contraction of the pipe. Is this so?.
Thanks for your help.
