Removing a shower replacing with sink

I have a small ranch 1100 square feet. We have a full bath on the first floor and in the basement we have a small bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. I want to remove the shower and move the sink to its place. I am going to reroute the existing water from the shower to feed the sink. But what about the drain?

Can I use what is currently a drain the floor of the shower for the new sink? Its 16 inches out from the wall but this is ok since the wall is subset and the sink would sit right on the drain.

Thanks. I can provide pics if it helps.
