Removing master half bath to extend main bath

NO----

I haven't seen 'overlay' bull nose in almost 20 years----bull nose tile today is flat just like the tile.

Durrock is attached to the studs and the adjoining drywall butts right up to it.

Someone suggested instead of tile around the bathtub wall to put up the acrylic bathtub walls. Really haven't looked into these. Maybe I will stop by home depot or lowes to take a look. For the bathtub I was planning on new tub, tiled walls, and glass shower doors.

No. Never do the acrylic way. If you are already gutted do a nice tile. It may cost more but it's a lot brighter with tile and it looks like you didn't cheap out.

Sadly, the acrylic liners look old and tired within 5 years if you use the shower regularly.
