Removed caulk shower floor, missing grout? Now what /w pic
Ok so Im new to this, my caulk at the bottom of my tiled shower was getting black sport and I am currently in the process of removing it.
I see that there is some grout and some larger gaps. The pic below is the largest gap the rest of the shower is not this bad…My questions are…
Do I just put a bead of caulk over this gap? (I have GE groov caulk, is this ok?)
Do I grout all these gaps first then caulk? (what do I use?)

Not sure what you are asking. I see that some scrubbing with bleach is in order to get rid of the mold, and you need to do some caulking. Grout will not stay in joints between floors and walls, too much movement, caulk those joints with RTV or silicone after cleaning and drying thoroughly.

Thanks for the reply..I guess I could have asked it simpler ...

Yup I still need to bleach it..but after that it you are telling me just caulk it after it dries?

Thanks again.

yes caulk, an option would be to get some caulk from the big box store that is made to match your grout

Dude, the first thing you have to do is scrub out the open lines with a small wire brush, taking up any remaining debris and caulk then rinse the area well. Then spray the lines lightly with bleach to kill any lingering mildew and let the shower air-dry overnight.
Now if you would like a nice clean line of caulk, get a roll of blue painter’s tape and apply one continuous strip of tape to the wall and one strip to the floor about 1/8’’ from joint. Now the caulking will go between the two pieces of tape making a nice straight line. You can smooth it with your finger, an old teaspoon or a caulking spreader by pushing the caulking into the gap. When all done, remove the tape and you have a professional looking job.
