Question

Recall Flushmate

ANY THOUGHTS from this forum is appreciated. How do you feel about the repair kit? I'm feeling just get a new toilet as the Flushmate may be damaged enough to have future issues.

TerryLove website has a chat on the recall and repair kit. I posted asking about feedback on the repair kit. The video link on installing the repair kit is in that thread. Also photos of blown up toilets that look like they can kill.

Recall Flushmate

In my opinion, I think the odds are PRETTY good in the consumer's favor. It took all of 5 minutes or so to install the "U" clamp and regulator. Even if it DID rupture, the result would just be water damages, not injuries. In close to 2 and a half MILLION units sold, less than a dozen caused any injuries, I'd say it's still a safe enough unit to continue using. For some people with "naturally large product" to flush, these are a blessing, not having to plunger it out after each and every use. "Low flow" were the worst, they RARELY sent the entire contents down, regardless who was using it, without multiple flushes. Does anyone else remember the King of the Hill episode about them? Pure crap.
