Rebuilding 3 Gallon toilet can I still get parts?

We bought a home built in the 40s. I believe the toilet is a 3 gallon flush. It is in good condition and I would like to rebuild it. Can you still buy the parts for a 3 gallon toilet or do you have to use the 1.6G parts? I want it to work properly after I rebuild it. Thanks.

You should be able to get parts....we've gotten parts for vent-away low boys before. It might be tough, however. If you can't get them from a hardware store you might have to call a plumbing shop and see if they can get them from the wholesaler.
