PVC Support?

My inspector said that my PVC waste lines need rigid support to prevent "bounce".

Here's what they look like now:

What should I use? Could I just drop down some lengths of 2x4 and use that same metal banding that you see in the photo (what is proper name for this)?

Or do I need some kind of special piece (link?) to make the inspector happy?

Thanks!

PVC Support?

I believe the metal banding is called plumber's tape. It also comes in plastic (a lot cheaper). It's what I used in my house.

PVC Support?

I don't know what code you're working out of, but ours only specifies that it shall be supported, not HOW it shall be supported.

Did he red tag you for it?

2x4 with plumbers tape is the way we do it most of the time now.
