PVC to Stainless

Can you connect PVC to a stainless tail pipe. I have a PVC wasteline coming up from the basement and connecting to the kitchen double bowl sink which has stainless tail pipes. It leaking and I need to fix it.

I do not think that you have stainless. It may be copper with a chrome outer layer.

Are both the PVC and the "stainless" the same size? Should be either 1- 1/2" or 1- 1/4".

You can either use a rubber connector with metal holding clamps or you can use a pvc compression fitting that will usea rubber washer inside of the the fitting. This rubber washer will compress around the "stainless" and give you a tight seal.

Whatever your tail is, there should not be a problem.
