pvc pipe under sink
the connection with the bottom section of the PVC pipe "T" keeps coming apart. I've had it tightened several times, and it keeps coming off, spraying water all over when it leaves the sink. Can you help me? Do I need goop? The plumber says tightening it should help, but it does nothing for me.

PVC sink drain pipe traps are made to be hand-tightened. There is a beveled washer under the nut. Make sure that it is turned in the right direction or it will leak and prevent the nut from tightening properly.
If all else fails, smear a little clear silicone caulk around the washer under the nut before tightening it.
Good Luck!

Consider lowering the tee a bit by making the vertical tailpieces longer

lowering the tee
I'm not sure what you mean by "lowering the tee"? Could you explain more?

what direction should the beveled nut be? toward the threads or away?
