pvc drain pipe joint leak

Hi all,
I have a leaking pvc drainpipe in my home basement. It is a slow drip from where two pipes are connected to one another. How do I disconnect the joint and re-cement? It is part of the home drain pipes in the basement. Or, what other options are there to fix the leak? Thanks.

I do not think you can really disconnect exactly at the joint. It is a lot of work. The cement must be very hard to clean, although there are some solvents to clean the cement and glue it again. I think it is better to cut
the portion of pipe where the leak is and assemble with new pipes.

To repair a leaking PVC pipe or fitting properly - cut it out and replace. Don't forget to ream/bevel the pipe on the outside, and use primer.
