Pvc and cast

I have to connect some PVC to existing cast under my slab. Would I be better off cutting the cast and joining them with a boot or should I slip a gasket into hubbed fitting on cast and insert my PVC through that? I'm not sure which method would be less likely to leak under the slab. Thanks!

Get a rubber boot that fits the PVC and the Cast. Make sure the cast is cut clean and straight. Insert the cast halfway in and the pvc halfway in so the 2 ends are together. Tighten the clamps as tight as possible without stripping them.

Thanks, but should I use the rubber boot or the kind that has a stainless steel band around the rubber?

If it was me if the cast and the pvc are the same diameter I would use the one with the steel band. But either one works good as long as you get a good seal.

Thanks again, that's what I'll do.
