Purple Primer everywhere??!!!
Hello i was installing some solar on my pool and i got some purple primer on my filter and some other parts. How do i get this darn stuff off of things. i tryed paint thinner but didnt seem to work. Let me knwo if anyones had any luck with products??

I would try PVC cleaner, I doubt though you'll ever get it all off.

If you find anything that removes it, let us all know. This primer actually starts a chemical action so the pipe and fitting are basically welded together with the glue. I have found nothing that will remove it.

That purple PVC primer/cleaner can be scrubbed off of some things (like your hands) IF it is scrubbed off while still wet.
Once it dries, it's purple forever. LOL I suppose that it could be sanded off with fine grit sandpaper, if someone really felt the urge. Mike |
Buy another bottle of primer and a paintbrush.... at least it won't be spotted purple anymore  I can solder copper just fine but I'm like a kid with fingerpaint when it comes to PVC welding.... purple everywhere!

Paint over it. PVC is not sunlight resistant and the new paint will help it last.
