Propane Tank

I just hooked up a new propane tank to my grill. Should I have used teflon tape? Also, is the old tank good for anything? Recycling? Money?

Propane Tank

no you should not use tape and yes the old tank can be exchanged for a new full tank that would have cost you less then buying a new tank alone

Propane Tank

No tape or dope needed since it is a friction type fitting. If the old tank has been equipped with the new fill valve, you can have it refilled. If not, you can take it to a propane dealer and "maybe" get something for it.
If you have never made a mistake, you haven't done much.
