propane tank


is anyone familiar with propane tanks?picked up a old filled 100# tank and hooked it up but the shutoff valve when turned on leaks thru the packing nut,any ideas how I can put this tank into service w/o losing all the propane,thanks in advance.

propane tank


It's probably a pretty bad idea to go screwing with a leaky propane tank. Tightening the packing nut may stop the leak, or it could get much worse. I wouldn't touch it. I'd recommend having a propane company come out and do it.
