Propane detector w/ automatic shutoff

We don't have natural gas at our house. We are replacing our electric kitchen stove with a propane stove. This will be our only propane appliance.

I've found an LP detector that has an automatic shutoff valve. It's quite pricey:

Is it worth it to invest in this or would just a regular LP detector alarm do it?

Thanks,

they want you to put one in each 400sqft room :)

I've never had any sort of gas shutoff device, never even seen one in friend's houses. Then again, I've always had natural gas. Is it some kind of code requirement?

No, it's not a code requirement. It's just for safety.
