Pressure Reducing valve and location irrigation branch line

I'm replacing the main pressure reducing valve for my house because it is not functioning. City pressure is 120 psi measured. I'm about to install a new bronze PRV.

Currently, the irrigation branch line is upstream of the PRV, so the PVC pipes in the ground see full 120 psi city pressure. I don't think the irrigation PVC should see 120 psi.

Should I reroute the main bronze PRV so that is it upstream of the sprinkler irrigation system, so the irrigation sees the same 50-65 psi pressure the house will see? Or should there be some other irrigation specific pressure regulation device installed on the branch line?

Thanks Andy.

Why? Have they been complaining about it?

i don't want my irrigation valves to fail early. I'm also concerned that some of the PVC in my system is the thin walled pipe and not the thick walled pipe. everything I've read says that pressure for lawn sprinklers should be about 55 psi.

Isn't this an existing system?
One that has been working with that 120psi feed?
