Pressure pump cutting in after several minutes of tank emptying

Seems I've done everything. Ive adjusted the main screw on the pressure switch, tried adjusting the differential screw also. But the pump will not cut in at the prescribed 20psi. After its tank empties, you stand in the shower, shampoo eating your corneas, soap compounding other issues, for up to 5 minutes before the pump cuts in. Ive checked the thermal protection, so its not the pump triiping off and on. The pressure switch contacts are open. Nothing like the old bucket of water. Any suggestions.

The well pump is to start 2lbs under the cut in.. say a 30/50 switch then the pump comes on at 28..
There needs to be 2lbs less of air in the top part of the tank.. if the switch is
40-60 then 38lbs of air
30-50 then 28lbs of air
20-40 then 18lbs of air
The air pressure it taken when the pump is off and there is no water in the pressure tank.
