Hi working @my dads house in Penna we got a power vent hot water tank the forced air furnace is also pwer vented,can we vent tank into that pvc vent,also we tried to start it up anbd it would not fire up does it need to be vented to start up Thanks Slammer

No, you must not tie the water heater vent into the furnace vent, they must be vented separately. Pay close attention to the installation instructions as they will give you clear details for clearances from other vents, air intakes or opening windows in the house. Unless you are trying to collect on an insurance policy for your dad, follow the instructions, and do not "fire up" the water heater without the proper venting in place.
