I recently installed a new tile floor, when placing toilet in place, I used two wax gaskets, 1 normal, 1 thick with horn, toilet sealed great....absolutely no leaks, however when I flush toilet it sounds like dripping...will you hear water drip for a few seconds after flush ...into waste pipe...or is this an indication that that its leaking???.... I cant see underneath...its a raised basement bathroom thats enclosed...so I cant see underneath....I mean its no big deal to try and reset toilet until I get it I just wonder if this dripping sound is standard???
I agree that I would be listening and looking at the tank for drips before replacing the wax seal(s). Should you decide to pull the toilet again, take the time (and a few bucks) to buy a flange extender so you do not need two seals. Too many things can happen when using more than one seal. If one slides while installing, it can block the drain hole.
If you have never made a mistake, you haven't done much.
