possible leak after water meter
 

I had a small leak after my water meter and just after my shutoff valve. I replaced the reducer - which connects the shutoff to 3/4 copper sweat fitting w/ threaded male end. I used pipe dope and teflon tape and I have no more leak- or no dripping but around the threads between the reducer and sweat fitting there is a little moisture. Not enough to drip off but even after I wipe it off it appears a few hours later. Is this just normal condensation due to the extremely cold water ( minnesota winter) into my relatively warm basement- 60 degrees?
I hope so- any advice is greatly appreciated.
PS I re did the fittings - took apart and re tightned with new tape /pipe dope a few times with the same outcome- Am I doing something wrong?

Sounds like condensation, not necessarily a leak, but if it persists, you can smear a little clear silicone on the threads to seal it.
If it is a leak, you should be able to easily tell it by looking at the (usually) triangular leak indicator on the meter. It spins rapidly when a faucet is running, but should be perfectly still when all water is off and there is no leak. If there is a small leak, there will be small movement of the triangle.
