Polybutylene replacement with PEX - Can this be a DIY project?

SharkBite actually does have a fitting for transition from PB to copper/ CPVC/ PEX. They have two different colored ends. Make sure you're inserting the PB end into the GRAY side. The standard SharkBite coupling doesn't have an thick enough insert that's strong enough to support the PB pipe. Definitely keep a few of these on hand for your transitions, even if they're temporary.
