plumping


i haveatear drop leak on a black castiron pipe at the hub.I was thinking about cleaning it and putting epoxy puddy around it.house in 1950.is this a good or bad

Cast iron at some point is going to rust out, concider replacing all of it.

As said cast iron shouldn't have water in it.

I had an issue like this with an *OLD* fire hydrant riser in a shop I used to have.
An wizened old plumber told me to pour salt on the leak and wrap it with a rag.
That worked.
