Plumbing for washing machine

Our washing machine drains into a large utility sink via an exposed hose which hooks over the edge of the sink. We're re-doing the room, replacing the appliances, and I'd like to know what would be involved to "hide" the hose. Thanks!

Well, you can't just tap in to the drain for the sink...Unfortunately.

You need a 2" drain, as well as a trap and a standpipe. Do you have unfinished space beneath the laundry room and reasonably good access to existing larger drain lines?

There are some pretty slick laundry boxes that mount into the wall and incorporate the drain with the supply lines. You could install such a box and not install new supply lines if you like where the existing ones are at.

If you're not an experienced plumber this might not be a DIY job.
