Plumbing line in exterior concrete for pool
Hope someone can help. We are having new concrete poured around our existing inground pool and have added some jets into the concrete patio that shoot water from the jets in the concrete patio into the pool. Currently the plumbing is laying on top of some dense-grade and the concrete contractor is going to pour the concrete directly over the plumbing lines (enclosing the lines within the concrete).

Is there any concern of the plumbing lines getting crushed/cracked during the freezing winter months due to the concrete expanding? (of course the lines will be winterized). I was thinking the lines should be buried in pea gravel perhaps, then the concrete poured, however the concrete guy assures me that it is fine to pour over the lines??? Does this sound right?

I would want them buried in the dirt .. Then pour concrete over

Thank you for the reply... it seems like that would make more sense to me as well. My problem is, there is already dense grade installed, lots of plumbing (8 jets) on top of the dense grade, the contractor assuring me its ok. I guess what i'm hoping to hear is that, in fact, the plumbing will be ok inside the concrete, or that, in fact, the plumbing will crack if not buried. We've had complications along the way and this project has taken months to get this far (due to problem contractors...firing them, starting over with other contractors, etc)... so if its ok to leave it as is, we will do that just to get this nightmare overwith.
