I found out that I have to pass a plumbing homeowner exam to get a permit. All I can find out is that its 25 multiple choice questions on the NC plumbing code, open book (you can refer to the NC plumbing code), and you get two hours.
Anyone done this sort of thing? How should I prepare? I'm pretty handy but I don't necessarily know the technical terms for things, which is where I fear I may make mistakes.
What?
I would just get a book on plumbing, such as at Lowe's or somewhere.
It should have almost all of the terms that any DIY test will have.
Good Luck!
Mike
You need to find out which book they are using... I would guess international Code book with NC inserts... Glance through the book t get familiar with the lay out and go take the test. You can Download the International Codebook on Line. If you can not find it let me know and I will shoot you the Link. Most plumbers seem to have problems with Venting and Gas
Code Check for plumbing. Available at Hommies or Blowes. Should have everything you need plus is a handy and simple to use reference book when you have questions
