Can anyone suggest a website where i can find detailed diagrams of undersink plumbing, toilet drains, shower drains and supply piping, washer drains, and "rules" of residential plumbing?

ive asked this before and was told to buy a book on plumbing from HD or lowes and i went up there, there wasnt a single book that had anything to do with plumbing. i need a website, please! My dad was supposed to fix all of the plumbing for my house but he just got a job that will have him gone all day every day and he wont have time.

You could start here and work your way around (searched diagrams of plumbing systems)

https://www.google.com/webhp?source...&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&biw=1441&bih=621

And there is always this

http://www.amazon.com/2009-Internat...1349279386&sr=1-12&keywords=plumbers+handbook#_

Or you can spend a night in the Holiday Inn, they say you will know everything after just one nights stay......

if that is all this website has for me in this department i suppose i will have to go to a library or something. I looked at your link and it was not helpful to me. And i dont need a book, i need a website. Something i can keep open in the background while i work. I dont have time to sit here and thumb through search results.

sorry, im at work and i cant sit here and go through search results. I need answers, and this is the second time ive asked this and recieved the same answer both times. most of the time this website is very helpful but i guess on this subject nobody can tell me anything.

Well it sounds to me like a book is exactly what you need as a library is full of exactly that.......books......hmmmm, I attached diagrams of typical installations for all the scenarios you asked for, as well as a link to a book that would be my recommendation to understand the basis of code.

I spent my time looking for you, to attempt to answer your question to the best of my ability, short of drawing pictures. So go to the library study the diagrams, in you guessed it....books.

And again you are so very welcome.

Im sorry but its very irritating that i can post a question about any other subject and i get answers from masters of those trades, but i ask any question about plumbing and all i get is "google it."

i know they are helpful, ive been here a while, i just really need some answers to this question because i need to do the plumbing before any further repairs are made and im running out of time. There were about thirty books in each store, about all subjects except plumbing.

Ive searched This Old House, ive searched just about every home repair website, every repair blog, and nothing. The only diagrams i can find are general, and i need to know what i need to repair the pipes.

my thougths also ..lose the attitude...we give of our time to HELP ....when we were learning plumbing including drawings..they were not given a blow by blow hookup...we had to design it ...which is what you need...a design because you cannot figure out how to do it..there is not one design to fit all...post a picture and you will in my opinion get one of the best if not the best design possible for what you are doing....ben sr:mad:

Under-sink plumbing, toilet drains, shower drains, supply piping, washer drains, and "rules of residential plumbing?" Are you serious?

Your frustrated because your looking in the wrong place. Details on how to fix almost every different aspect of your specific home's plumbing? It's called a plumber. The only reason he knows how to fix everything is because he has been working with pipes since high school. He does not have a secret login to the "how to plumb" website. Such a thing does not exist, because that's what plumbers are for. You are asking for a link to a website that will teach you to be a plumber.

"Rules of plumbing" are established in the USA by the UPC or "Uniform Plumbing Code", and this UPC can be superseded by your local plumbing inspector/municipality.

Maybe you should start by looking up UPC, contacting your municipality about local rules. Have you ever looked underneath a sink that was hooked up before?

Start a thread outlining a specific problem/project, provide details, and then many of us will happily try to share our knowledge with you, so you can accomplish your project safely and properly. Expecting anyone or anything to be a one-stop-shop explaining how a home plumbing system operates is ludicrous.

i dont want a blow by blow how to be a plumber, guys. i just need the basic legal hookup for the inside plumbing, from the fixtures to the wall. I figure they are all basically the same, its the under-house plumbing that requires design. all of the sinks/washer/hot water tank/toilets/showers are all missing every bit of indoor plumbing. I live in a house so i can look at my own plumbing but my dad told me that its not the same for a mobile home as it is for a stick-built house.

sorry about my attitude, Im in a pretty desperate situation here and im really beginning to panic. I have until the end of the year to finish this house or ill be out on the street, and proper plumbing is required to inhabit a house.

I'd love to help here, but you seem very rude, and i've had too much to drink. So i'm biting my tongue before I get myself kicked off of here.

Best of luck in all your future endeavors. (p.s. a more detailed description of what you're trying to do, and/or pictures would help, but that's already been requested I think)

the pipes that go from the fixtures to the floors are missing. under the sinks, there is nada. its all gone. I need to replace them so i can get moved in. I dont need fancy, i need livable. if anyone can just give me a basic design and the fittings it would need, that would be great. there is not a single pipe of indoor plumbing in this house.
Again, im sorry about the rudeness but honestly Im about to panicking point. Its october, which means i have about three months to finish this house, and the plumbing is only the beginning. I really dont want to live on the street.

Are you saying there is no plumbing in the house at all? If so then you need to hire a plumber!
If it's just trim work then install a trap adapter- it might be 1.25" or 1.5" or 1.5"x1.25", trap to match the trap adapter, tailpiece, pop up, angle stops- either IP or compression, straight or angle patern- depends on your pipes. 1/2x3/8 flex supplies, oh and a faucet-4"or 8" depending on the lav you have. You also might want a tailpiece extension. You'll also need some putty, dap, pipe dope, maybe some teflon tape.
That should do it for the lav. Sounds easy enough:thumbsup:
Box store will have all the parts.... Or a good plumber will have it on his van when he rolls to your door

Ive got 2k to finish the house with, a plumber would charge double that. im sorry but hiring a plumber is just out of the question. And yes you have it right, there is no plumbing at all inside the house. copper theives come in and stole all of it.Im just glad they didnt tear the walls up in the process. i dont mind replacing it, the plumbing parts are not that expensive. ill go tonight and see if i can find this stuff.
