plumbing bathromm

Hi everyone,

I am planning to plumbing the new bathroom in basement. I was trying to find a vent but no clue. I thought it should be a white pipe. I went to Home depot they said I can create new vent in bathroom . Is It possible.
Thanks

Adding a vent can be easy or very difficult, depending on where it needs to go. I would pick up a good book on plumbing basics before you start. And codes vary from locale to locale.

An existing vent may be white(PVC), black(ABS or cast iron). It may be a verticle 4" main or a smaller branch from the main. They always go up, and thru the roof, or may be up the outside of a building.

Just a little add-on note, the vent in my last house was 4" copper. The entire DWV system was copper.
