Doesn't make much difference in my area. Our climate is quite mild here.

Others might tell you that they need to be well insulated in the attic to withstand freezing winters.


Other than that, it really doesn't make much difference. There's always the possibility for damage if you have a leak there, but then with two story homes, the plumbing on the second floor always makes that a possibility.
