Plumbers putty and corien sink?

I just had solid surface counters and integral sink installed and forgot to ask if you can use putty to install the strainer baskets. So, I came Baer to ask the pros.

With Corian--yes, regular plumbers putty is okay----If you are concerned---there is an oilless plumbers putty, designed for marble and granite----or you could use clear silicone-----

I would never use silicone because the stuff is a pain to get off years later. The putty will scrape right off with a putty knife. Stainless putty is the way i would go.
