I am trying to replace the toilet water supply valve since it is leaking. I would like to shut off the main water supply coming into the house. I am able to locate the water meter tucked inside the sidewalk's pothole. However, I don't see any knob or anything that resembles a shut-off valve. Maybe I am not looking in the right place or there is actually a valve there that I am not recognizing. Can you guys help identity if there is a shut-off value next to my water meter? I am attaching a picture of the water meter in this thread. Any kind of help is greatly appreciated.
It might be on the riser below the 90.
Or you may have a valve near your foundation wall either outside or inside the house.
It's kind of a crap shoot- it's done differently depending on where you live.
Whether a valve is at the meter or not (it should be)...
there really should also be another valve where the water pipe enters the house.
Sometimes it's inside (basement? under kitchen sink?)...
and sometimes it's outside (along with a hose bib).
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
