Pinhole Leak
House- 1977 two-story w/ full basement
There is a pinhole leak in the main water supply pipe about 12 inches above where it comes out of the foundation. It is shooting out of a big, plastic nut in between copper pipe and what looks like a rubber slip coupling. The leak is below the shut-off valve. Fortunately, there is a floor drain. How do I repair this? |

Pinhole Leak
Ayuh,.... The water is shut off at the Main, then the valve is replaced....
Or,... You can do a Hot change-out,... Expect to get WET... Leave the new valve Open, til it's hooked up solid, you won't get quite so WET that way..... Been there, Done that..... |

Do you guys down there in Virginnie have shutoffs out in the lawn near the street? Here in Ohio we do, and just about every excavator carries a shutoff tool with them. Mike Hawkins
