pin holes in copper water lines

My house was built in 1978. Copper is used through out for all the water lines. The past couple of years pin holes have been appearing in the cold water lines. The hot side never seems to be a problem. I have probably fixed 4-5 holes a year. There are green like spots and patches on the outside of the copper itself. I should mention also that we have well water.

What would cause this? Is it a water problem? Bad Copper? Age?

Thanks

pin holes in copper water lines

Water PH is too low, replace the lines with pex pipe.
