Pex tubing in Chicago?


Can anyone tell me if Chicago codes will allow you to use pex tubing for domestic water? Thanks.

Sorry unless the code changed very recently you are out of luck. Call the building department and find out.

Thanks for the reply. I sort of thought as much. I tried to read the city plumbing code, but it was like it was written in Hungarian.

Shame, because pex fits my application, and I've used it dozens of times for radiant.

I work in DuPage and Kane co.

Not allowed here either.It's a shame-great product -fine, Illinois is the slowest state to accept new products.--MIKE--
