pex end cap

I have a rough in at my cottage done by a plumber. It is all pex. He capped all ends with something I like have not seen. It looks like an end cap with a metal end on it. Does anyone know what this is. Can I simply screw it off and add the fitting I need or do I have to cut the pex and add a pex fitting. Sorry i dont have any pix but I'm at my cottage and dont have my camera. Thanks for any and all help.

Yes it's just a rough in plug. You'll need to make sure the water is shut off, then cut off the cap and install a PEX straight or angle stop. In which case you would need PEX tools.
