PEX Clamp Tool

I am going to do some plumbing in the basement using Pex-A with stainless steel clamps and brass fittings.

I need to get a clamp tool... Do these clamp tools work with different manufacturers of clamps and fittings?

Also, any recommendations on the tool itself, clamps, and fittings? I was thinking about buying HydroPex Clamps and Rifeng Fitting from pexsupply.com and then getting either the Oetiker 18038 3 handle tool or the Kobalt cinch clamp fastening tool from Lowes.. what do you think, will these tools do it for me?

Thank you,
Chris

I have the Oetiker 18038 3 handle tool and it does all sizes. Sure saves time a dollars not having to buy a tool for each size.

Thanks Plumber101.

Does that mean you have to use Oetiker clamps and fittings or can it work with different brands?

Yes it will work with other brands.

The third handle is a little weak but it helps.

Just a tip: With the tool open it fully, then insert the crimp ring, close the tool until you hear it click ONCE and only ONCE, then slide the ring with the tool on the pex pipe, line it up and crimp
