pex / baseboard heat
 
Any thoughts on whether i can use a piece of pex in the middle of a copper line that provides baseboard heat. I'm shortening the total length of the line (from about 200 feet to about 85 feet), and it would be much easier to use pex in the middle since I need to go through a portion of the attic and down through a wall (yes, i have a slab foundation) and it would be difficult to get in and sweat elbows in some of the places that would need them.

Yes, but you need to use PEX with an oxygen barrier such as:
